Ferreira slammed 163 runs off 180 deliveries with 15 fours and six sixes while batting at number seven. He came out to bat at the fall of Marco Jansen’s wicket at 167-5 and stitched exactly 167 runs for the sixth wicket with his skipper Simon Harmer.
A 49-run stand for the seventh wicket with Beyers Swanepoel followed before Tristan Luus snared Ferreira. However, the damage was done by then as the Titans eventually finished on 421 runs in their first innings.
Ferreira, 28, is best known for his exploits down the order in T20 cricket, having played 174 matches so far in the format. He strikes at 164 in all T20s for his 3,106 runs while also picking 33 wickets.
On the other hand, this is only his 16th first-class match despite him debuting in 2021. In the longest format, he has scored 1,091 runs at 49.59 with four centuries and as many fifties. Notably, his 163 against the Titans is his career-best first-class score. He has also picked 30 wickets at 28.16 with a five-for. Having started the season on a high, Ferreira would hope to continue in the same vein.
Coming back to the match, the Titans took a massive lead of 264 in the first innings, having skittled the Dolphins for just 157 runs. The Dolphins batters struggled a second time in the match to get folded for just 204 as the Titans won the game by an innings and 60 runs. Apart from Ferreira, Jansen picked up seven wickets in the game and scored 37 runs.
