This 1977 Volkswagen Beetle is said to have had two owners before it was acquired by the seller in 1993, at which time it showed 61 miles on the odometer. The car was subsequently transported to Connecticut, where it remained until it was relocated to North Carolina in 2011. Finished in Bahama Blue Metallic over Cameo White leatherette upholstery, the car is powered by a fuel-injected 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. It has 15″ Lemmerz steel wheels, chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and front bucket seats. This Beetle shows just under 167 miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, brochures, a service manual, two sets of keys, uninstalled spare rear bumpers, along with other spare parts, service records, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Bahama Blue Metallic and features a driver-side mirror, fender-mounted turn signals, and chrome bumpers. An area of rust is noted on the left side of the rear bumper, and two replacement rear bumpers as well as other replacement parts are included in the sale.
Silver-painted Lemmerz steel wheels are mounted with 6.00-15″ Metzeler tires that show signs of dry rot on the sidewalls, and the seller believes that they are from 1976. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in Cameo White leatherette upholstery. Interior appointments include a glove compartment, retrofitted floor mats, and ventilation controls.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 167 miles, approximately 106 of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.6-liter flat-four features electronic fuel injection for a factory rating of 48 horsepower and 73 lb-ft of torque. The fuel tank was replaced, the mass air-flow sensor was refurbished, and a no-start issue was addressed in 2018. The battery was replaced in August 2024, and work in late 2024 consisted of replacing the fuel pump relay, oil pan gasket, and fuel filter, along with changing the oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery below.
Manufacturer’s literature, two sets of keys, a vehicle transfer card, brochures, service records, and spare parts, including an electric windshield wiper kit, are included in the sale.
