This Seminole Red 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser is a short-wheelbase FJ45 pickup with a removable hardtop. It is said to have been sold new in Northern California, where it had long-term ownership with a grape farmer. A body-off refurbishment was later completed by JP Virgo of Preservation Land Cruisers in South Carolina, per the seller, who acquired the vehicle in 2021. As noted in his 34-page build thread, a fuel-injected 2F inline-six was subsequently installed, followed by a four-speed manual transmission. Additional work under current ownership included repositioning the rear axle, reupholstering the seats in grey vinyl, installing Dakota Digital gauges, and refinishing the hardtop and bed. The truck also features power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, 34″ tires, manually locking front hubs, and a Warn winch. This FJ45 pickup is offered with a tool kit, an owner’s manual, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in Seminole Red, and it has a body-colored removable hardtop, mirror caps, and spray-in bedliner. Other details include aftermarket bumpers, H4 headlights, LED reversing lights, and a Warn winch with a Factor 55 UltraHook. Black 16″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps wear 34×10.50″ Interco Super Swamper LTB tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, Dobinsons IMS shocks, a Dobinsons steering damper, and a FJ62/FJ80-style power steering pump. The braking system was overhauled under current ownership with four-wheel discs, El Dorado-style rear calipers, an E-Stopp electric parking-brake actuator, and 10mm rear brake lines.
The split bench seat has been retrimmed in grey vinyl, and red lap belts are fitted. Silver trim complements the body-color dashboard and door panels, while rubber floor mats line the footwells.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation that consists of a 120-mph speedometer and a digital odometer showing 1,800 miles as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six was installed in 2022 by Mosley Motors of Memphis, Tennessee, and is equipped with lightweight pistons and connecting rods, Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, an upgraded ignition system, and a modified air-cleaner assembly.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The rear axle was repositioned approximately one inch toward the rear, and Man-A-Fre rear shackles were installed under current ownership, as well.
