This 1966 Fiat 850 Berlina is said to have remained with the family of its original owner in Italy until being purchased by the selling dealer in 2021 and later imported to the US. The car was refurbished around the time of the 2021 purchase and is powered by a rear-mounted 843cc inline-four that routes power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Finished in off-white over tan vinyl, the car is equipped with 14″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, a dashboard storage net, and a spare tire mounted in the front trunk. This 850 Berlina is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Florida title.
The car was refinished in 2021 in Aviorio Antico, which is noted by the selling dealer to be the original color. Exterior equipment includes a front trunk, a vented engine lid, chrome bumpers, and a driver-side mirror.
The 14″ steel wheels are mounted with Start-branded ties, and a spare tire is mounted in the front trunk area. Suspension components include a transverse leaf spring up front and coil springs at the rear. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench that are trimmed in tan vinyl with black piping. The upholstery was replaced during the 2021 project, as were the tan vinyl door panels. Additional equipment includes a lockable glove box, manually operated side windows, and a heater.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 140-km/h speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 49k kilometers (~30k miles), approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The rear-mounted 843cc inline-four is equipped with a single-barrel carburetor and was factory rated for up to 37 horsepower. The engine was reportedly rebuilt in 2021.
