This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is one of 2,048 fastbacks produced for the model year and was restored by Cobra Automotive in the early 2000s. The car recently underwent a major engine service in which the 428ci Police Interceptor V8 was removed, rebuilt, dyno tested, and reinstalled, with approximately $25,000 in documented work. Finished in bright white with blue stripes, the car also features its Shelby-specific roll bar, functional hood scoops, ducktail rear spoiler, 15″ Magstar alloy wheels, front disc brakes, power steering, and a four-speed manual transmission. This GT500 is now offered in Connecticut by the selling dealer with service records and a clean Montana title.

The car was finished in Wimbledon White (4) from the factory and has been refinished in bright white with dual Shelby Blue stripes and GT500 side stripes. Exterior features include a fiberglass ventilated hood with functional air scoops, fender and sail-panel scoops, fender extensions, inboard grille-mounted high beams, a ducktail rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ five-spoke Magstar alloy wheels wear Shelby Cobra center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich tires. GT500-specific suspension equipment includes heavy-duty coil springs and an anti-roll bar up front with heavy-duty leaf springs at the rear. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. In August 2026, the rear suspension received new shackle kits, U-bolts, and bushings.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a folding Sport Deck rear seat trimmed in black vinyl, along with a retro-style radio, front shoulder harnesses, a Shelby-specific roll bar with inertia-reel seatbelts, and a Hurst shifter.

The woodgrain steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer has been reset and now shows ~1,100 miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 428ci Police Interceptor V8 was factory equipped with dual four-barrel Holley carburetors and was rated at 335 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. It was originally specified with the Extra Cooling Package and a heavy-duty battery. Cobra Automotive recently removed and rebuilt the engine before dyno testing and reinstalling it. The service included replacement of the valve-cover gaskets, fuel hoses, fuel-sending unit, heater core, and battery, along with flushing the radiator.

Approximately $25,000 in recent work is documented in the available invoices.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A new exhaust system was installed, and a Centerforce flywheel was fitted in August 2026.
