This 1979 Ferrari 308 GTB is said to have been in storage for several decades before it was recommissioned in 2024 and 2025 and was purchased by the selling dealer in 2026. Finished in red over beige leather, it is powered by a 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 linked to a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes four Weber carburetors, disc brakes, 14″ alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, a gated shifter, air conditioning, and power windows. Work performed since 2024 included replacing the timing belts, servicing the engine and air conditioning system, and overhauling the brakes. This 308 GTB shows 7k miles and is offered by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner in Missouri, with tool and jack kits, service records, and a clean Arizona title.
The 308 GTB was introduced at the 1975 Paris Motor Show and featured Pininfarina-styled bodywork. This car is believed to have been refinished under previous ownership in red and features pop-up headlights, a driver-side mirror, a vented decklid, a power-retractable antenna, and quad exhaust outlets. A blemish in the paint on the right fender is depicted in the gallery.
Silver-finished 14″ alloy wheels were mounted with Michelin XWX tires in 2024. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner. Recent work included rebuilding the brake calipers and emergency brake system and replacing the brake hoses and pads, as well as the sway bar brackets and bushings.
The bolstered bucket seats are trimmed in beige leather that extends to the door panels. Appointments include a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern, as well as air conditioning and power windows. The blower motor was replaced in 2025.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including an 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. An analog clock and an oil-temperature gauge are mounted to the left of the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles.
The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 was factory rated at 237 horsepower and features four twin-choke Weber 40DCNF carburetors. Service since 2024 included changing the oil, recharging the air conditioning refrigerant, rebuilding the carburetors, powdercoating the airbox, and replacing the following components:
- Timing belts
- Air conditioning compressor
- Water pump
- Thermostat
- Coolant hoses
- Intake manifold gaskets
- Battery
- Air filter
- Fuses and relays
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.
The chassis stamping “F106AB28045” is shown above and the VIN referenced on the current Arizona title includes the “F106AB” prefix.
