This 1988 Chevrolet G20 is a 3/4-ton van that was fitted with a Vista Classic conversion package by Trail Wagons of Fairfield, California, when new. It added a roof rack, a rear ladder, Vista Slider bay windows, running boards, optional 15″ Custom 10-hole wheels, second-row swiveling captain’s chairs, a bed-converting rear bench, a 5″ KTV television, an overhead console, and venetian blinds. The gray cloth-trimmed cabin is further appointed with front captain’s chairs, a JVC stereo, Kicker speakers, and an aftermarket trailer brake controller. Power is provided by a 5.7-liter V8 that drives the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, and it wears a repaint in dark blue and silver. Now showing 87k miles, this G20 conversion van has been in California, Washington, and Idaho since new and is offered by the selling dealer with the owner’s manual, initial purchase documents, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a Washington title.
The van was finished from the factory in Galaxy Blue (28U), and it was repainted in its current shade of dark blue and silver under prior ownership to address faded paint, per the selling dealer. The Vista Classic conversion package added a roof rack, a rear ladder, Vista Slider bay windows, and running boards. Additional exterior equipment includes a receiver hitch and rear barn doors. The chrome-finished 15″ Custom 10-hole wheels were an option for the Vista Classic, and they are mounted with 235/75 Mazama tires. A covered spare is affixed to the aftermarket swing-away carrier.
The cabin was initially trimmed in Blue vinyl (23V), and the captain’s chairs are now upholstered in gray cloth with blue piping. They are split by an aftermarket center console, and the overhead Trail Wagons console has an analog clock, a Limited Edition badge, and auxiliary switches. Additional appointments include an aftermarket trailer brake controller, a JVC stereo, Kicker speakers, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows and locks.
The rear cabin is accessed via the sliding right-side door and is outfitted with second-row swiveling captain’s chairs, a folding rear bench that converts into a bed, a rear-overhead-mounted 5″ KTV KT506A television, venetian blinds, outlets, and custom storage enclosures with additional Kicker speakers.
The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a Comfortilt column and fronts an 85-mph speedometer as well as auxiliary gauges and an aftermarket tachometer and boost-pressure gauge, though the latter two do not work. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles.
The 5.7-liter V8 features electronic fuel injection.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Signs of corrosion are visible on underside components.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
The Washington title carries an “Exempt” notation under the Odometer Status section and has an “Antique” brand.
