This 1996 Mazda MX-5 Miata is one of approximately 3,000 M-Edition examples produced for the model year, all of which were finished in Starlight Blue Mica over tan leather upholstery. Modifications include 15″ Advanti Racing Storm S1 wheels, a Track Dog Racing header heat shield, an aftermarket muffler, a trunk-mounted luggage rack, a wood-rimmed MOMO steering wheel, a Kenwood CD stereo, and aftermarket speakers. Power is from a 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, pop-up headlights, a wooden Nardi shift knob, air conditioning, and cruise control. The seller purchased the car earlier this year and has since added approximately 10k of the 93k miles shown. This NA Miata is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, two spare sets of wheels, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
All 1996 M-Edition examples were finished in Starlight Blue Mica, and exterior equipment includes a black convertible soft top, pop-up headlights, chrome door handles, painted mirror caps, a convertible top boot, a trunk-mounted luggage rack, M-Edition badges, and a single exhaust outlet.
The 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Falken Ziex tires. The car is equipped with power steering, an independent double wishbone suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and four-wheel disc brakes. The sale includes two additional sets of wheels consisting of 15″ Advanti Racing Storm S1 wheels and 14″ Daisy alloy wheels, which have been refinished, and photos showing the Advanti wheels installed on the car are shown in the gallery.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels as well as a black upper dashboard and center console. Interior amenities include a wood Nardi shift knob, a Kenwood CD stereo, aftermarket speakers, headrest speakers, air conditioning, a wind deflector, cruise control, aftermarket door pulls, and power mirrors and windows. The center console has been removed, and a cubby is affixed to the right side of the transmission tunnel.
The wood-rimmed MOMO steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The removed steering wheel is included in the sale. The six-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four was factory rated at 133 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. A Track Dog Racing header heat shield and an aftermarket muffler have been installed. The cylinder head gasket was replaced in June 2019 at 67k miles, and the timing belt, water pump, crankshaft position sensor, and thermostat were replaced in May 2022.
The five-speed manual transmission was replaced in July 2018, and it is linked to a Torsen limited-slip differential.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Mann Mazda in Adrian, Michigan, as well as factory equipment, colors, and a total vehicle price of $25,210.
