As cat people, we all have one thing in common, and that is that we love all cats. All of them. From itty bitty kitties, to all the underrated small wild cats, to, of course, the big cats. Just as much as we love regular cats, we love lions and cheetahs and tigers and pumas and all the rest of them. Because a cat is a cat is a cat. And the same way that we want to pet every single stray cat that we come across, we also want to pet every big cat that we have ever seen. You should see us in a zoo. We spend basically all our time cooing at big cats.
Personally, us ICHC writers, are kind of lucky when it comes to our jobs. Sure, it's not the same as being a zoo worker, or a vet, or a shelter worker, but we get to write about cute cats for a living. I've been here for years, writing about cats day in and day out, and I have not gotten sick of it yet. That doesn't mean that I'm not jealous of people actively getting to work with animals every single day, but I have comforted myself by telling myself that I don't have the skills to be all those other things. But a wildlife photographer? I take pictures of my cat every day.
If there is one job that I fantasize about sometimes, it's this one. It's being a wildlife photographer. To clarify, I know nothing about the reality this job. All I know is this genre of images. Animals interrupting wildlife photographers in the cutest ways pawssible. And that's all it takes to get me jealous. Because these people, in these pictures, get to interact with real wild cats in ways that we can only dream of. And since I can't take their job, since I'm here writing for you guys, I might as well put together these adorable photos, and we can all live vicariously through them.
