We will always love you, Dolly!

The beloved musician, actor, and philanthropist left our plane this past Tuesday, and I wish we would, at the very least, honour her all week, so here are my two cents.

We can all agree she had something about her; there was a radiance, a joy, a positivity that she gave out to the world. Something that made you look at her and feel hypnotised.

I literally remember the first time I saw her, back when I was around, let's say, 6 years old, and my mom was watching Steel Magnolias on the television. I was mesmerised. I couldn't understand how hair could hold itself so high on a person's head, and how a smile could be so contagious.

This week, I'm watching the movie again to rejoice in her vibe and keep celebrating everything she left behind. It's not often that a star as big as her is also a philanthropist who does so many things to help others.

She had her 'Imagination Library', where she gifted many children a book a month to incentivise a love of literature, and made so many other important contributions to communities that needed them.

I find her so inspiring, the way she portrayed her on-stage-persona and the way she was very aware of what she was doing. The way she would play guitar with the longest nails better than I ever will with the shortest. And the way she wouldn't take herself seriously at all.

For all that, let's laugh at memes that multiply the joy she radiated; let's go back and watch all her films, and most importantly, let's keep on listening to her beautiful music!
