You can't truly understand what it's like living with cats until you're a cat pawrent yourself. So for all of you cat "owners" out there, we've gathered the weekly top 20 hissterical, heartwarming, and silly tweets that highlight all the cuteness and crime that goes on in our homes daily.

Just like how a childless couple can't compare their lives to the lives of a couple with a hooman kid or two, someone who doesn't own a cat can't compare their lives to the life of a cat pawrent. How can you explain that heartwarming feeling when you open your door to hear the little pitter-patter of paws running to greet you followed by a chorus of happy meows? How can you describe what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night to your cat climbing under the covers to snuggle up next to you? And how can you describe the exhaustion that comes from being woken up at 5:30 AM every meowrning to feed your cat because they won't shut up?

Living with cats is like living with tiny, fuzzy roommates that you let make every decision for you. Most people do everything they can to move past the roommate portion of their lives, and yet, cat people wake up and choose it every day. Except these roommates are much bossier and more demanding than any hooman ones. They force you to get up at all hours of the night, tell you when it's bedtime, and demand food even when it's nowhere near dinnertime. Not to mention the fact that, if they get bored, they will destroy your furniture or eat every piece of plastic in sight.

I know I'm not selling it well, but despite all of those downsides, living with cats is also one of the most soul-nourishing expurriences you can have in this lifetime. When they stretch their toe beans out after a big yawn, when they loaf on top of you and purr like car engines, and watching them play with a new toy are some of the few things that fill me with joy on a daily basis. That, dear readers, is worth more than anything money can buy.

For all of us who choose to live with the furry little criminals we call cats, know that the good parts outweigh the bad, and that at least we don't have to get up at 6 AM when it's raining to take our cats for a walk, like dog people do. And on the days when it just feels too hard, remember that there are thousands, if not millions, of other cat parents going through the same thing, and tweeting about it. If nothing else, let us at least laugh through the pain instead of suffering through it.
