Being in an office the whole day may be your closest experience to The Office series.

I always loved the series The Office because of the characters and the premise. Everyone felt like a version of someone you would meet at an office job, but at the same time they are crazy and caricaturistic enough, so it stays a sitcom to laugh and disconnect from real life. The format may be the most interesting thing about the series. Having a camera crew and a documentary style makes the whole thing feel more elevated and more hilarious. If you get to think about it, there were people following them to the weirdest places, which makes the whole thing much funnier than you would expect. Also, their constant playfulness between the dark humor and the lighthearted one kept every viewer's attention through the ten seasons.

The first season was kind of a rough patch. Not every viewer found it funny, and some episodes are just a copy of the UK version, which didn't particularly hit as well in the US. Doing a remake and adapting it to a new set of viewers with another culture and a different understanding of humor can be extremely hard. I'm glad that they didn't leave it in that first season, because it may not have been great, but it was definitely setting the premise to develop an amazing sitcom that would stay in everybody's mind for decades. If the show was done now, that first season would have been the only thing we got. Now, producers don't let the shows build themselves through time. If things aren't amazing from the first second, then they just give up. That's why we have to thank the producers for trusting the series even when it wasn't at its peak.

Something that I also love about this series is how even though everyone and everything is crazy and exaggerated to be funny, it's also very realistic. Everyone who has ever worked at an office knows that the adventures they go through and the personalities these characters have aren't as crazy when compared to real life.
