Buying clothes can definitely become an obsession, especially with social media showing you new trends every day and stores changing to new aesthetics every week. It is easy to fall into consumerism and start to buy and buy even when you know you won't be able to wear every piece of clothing you are buying. Soon it becomes impossible to stop; we want more and more, but we always wear the same. It sometimes gets to a point where we buy clothes, never get to use them, and we end up donating them with the tag still on them. It means that you bought something excited to wear it, never even wore it out, and gave it up because you don't want it anymore. That makes you think, why did you even buy it in the first place? You were never going to wear it with all the clothing you already have, so why spend money on more? It's not because you want the piece of clothing, because if that was the case, you would have at least worn it once. But no, you forgot it even existed. So did you buy it because you wanted it or because you liked the idea of buying more clothes?
I'm not here to dissuade people from buying clothes; you do what you want, but I do think that maybe we are always thinking about buying more and more and less about what we are actually buying. It is normal to have as a mindset the idea that if something is cheap, we need to buy it. But that is not a good idea. If you want something and can afford it, then there's nothing wrong with purchasing it, but to just buy it because it is cheap may not be the best idea.
I love buying clothes and having a big closet to pick from when I'm getting dressed. Is nice to feel pretty in the clothes you wear. But to have a clothing store as a closet may be a little much. Enjoy the act of buying things you like; it is nice to spend money on what you like, but maybe buying whatever is trending is not the best. It seems better to just follow what you like and not what other people promote as the new "must-have".
