That's the main reason why your playlist ends up looking like some DJ started to press play on random songs, resulting in a list only you can fully understand. It's all fun and giggles, until a stranger asks to see your Spotify / Apple Music mix, and suddenly you feel like your entire personality is being tested. But don't worry, it's impossible to figure out your personality from that playlist alone, as it looks like a Frankenstein-inspired creation.
We know you. We ARE you. We've done truly everything we had to do while listening to music. Sports? Music? Work? Play some music. Driving your car? You know it. Shower? Yes. Having a slightly boring conversation with someone? Get your headphones…and put them away because that's just mean. Maybe wait until they leave to play some songs that accurately represent how that conversation left you feeling.
In a way, our collection of songs tells the story of our lives. You can tell when we became angsty teenagers just by getting to know our music taste, or if we were going through a particularly rough breakup. Forget about writing a self-biography book; all somebody needs to do is get into their preferred music app.
Make the most of this opportunity to go through your phone and search for that one song you always skip when it shows up randomly throughout the day. Take a second to appreciate it, remembering there was a time you absolutely couldn't stop listening to it on repeat. Most likely, that is exactly why you can't even see its title anymore without getting a creeping feeling of desperation. We know you will never erase it from the list, and eventually, you will come back to it, so you can get tired of it again. It is kinda a never-ending cycle.
