This 1929 Ford Model A Tudor was transformed into a hot rod in 2015 by Bobby Hilton of Hilton’s Hot Rods and dubbed “Angry A.” The build is centered around a custom-built ’32-style highboy frame fabricated from flat stock and a Ross Race Engines–built 327ci V8 paired with a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission. Per the seller, additional modifications include a 2″ chopped original Henry Ford steel body, a Super Bell 5″ drop front axle with chrome hairpin radius rods, a four-link rear setup, front disc and rear drum brakes with Buick-style finned covers, 16″ steel wheels, Rochester two-barrel carburetors in a tri-power arrangement, and a custom interior. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2025, this Model A is now offered with a Virginia title listing the car as a 1929 Ford.
The original Henry Ford steel Tudor body is finished in in Sherwood Pearl using House of Kolors paint and features a 2″ chopped roof, an original-style vinyl cover, a tilt-out windshield, a windshield visor, front and rear spreader bars, and custom pinstriping. Various chips and scratches are present.
The 16″ steel wheels are mounted with Diamond Back Auburn Deluxe Radial tires measuring 5.50×16 up front and 7.50×16 at the rear. The custom chassis is a ’32-style high-boy frame built from flat stock. Suspension components include a Super Bell 5″ drop front axle, chrome hairpin radius rods, and chrome shocks. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, with finned Buick-style covers up front and an electric booster.
The cabin features a custom bench seat upholstered in black vinyl and oak roof bows.
The driver is provided a three-spoke wheel and a tall shifter along with Stewart-Warner gauges. The seller has driven ~800 of the 28k indicated miles.
The 327ci V8 was custom built by Ross Race Engines in 2015 as part of the build. The engine is fitted with an aluminum intake manifold, finned aluminum valve covers, Rochester two-barrel carburetors arranged in a tri-power setup, Edmunds custom air cleaners, ram’s horn exhaust manifolds, an MSD distributor and ignition wires, and a Powermaster PowerGen alternator. Cooling is provided by an aluminum Champion radiator.
A Tremec T-5 five-speed manual is linked to the Ford four-link rear end.
