I love hiking. I love being away from everything, surrounded by the beauty of nature, sleeping in a tent, and going back home refreshed with renewed energy. I just really wish I could have had my cat with me this entire time. I'm lying on the ground, looking up at a clear night sky, with no light pollution to obscure the stars - and all I want is my cat to come and sit on my chest and purr. I'm walking a marvelous path, surrounded by thick vegetation and tall trees, reaching a magnificent waterfall to take a break - and all I wish is for my cat to obstruct my walking path because she asks for pets.
Now, it's not that my cat is not a leash-trained cat, but… well, she's kind of not. She wants to be outside, but she absolutely hates to put the leash on. Once it's on, she's fine, but the process of getting to this situation is time-consuming, to say the least. And also, there's the tiny little detail of her despising car rides with a passion. So, getting her out of the city to a place where I can actually hike with her? Impossible. She likes to walk outside with the leash on… one building away, or down in the garage. She actually never dared to cross the street.
But some cat owners are luckier than others. Luckier than me, that is. They're able to put a leash on their cat and just go for it - parks, nature reserves, rivers, and even camping with their cat. I'm low-key jealous of them, but more than anything, I'm impressed. That's why I love seeing pictures of cats on a leash, living their best lives outdoors - supervised - being the most purrfect meowdels for the camera. So I'm bringing them here to you, so we can all enjoy these cutie patooties together.
