This 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3600 was acquired by the seller as a rolling project in 2016 and was modified over the last decade with a custom-fabricated short flatbed with wood stake sides, a 350ci V8 equipped with FiTech port fuel injection, and a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The chassis was shortened and incorporates independent front suspension, a four-link rear setup, and four-wheel disc brakes. It was repainted in copper over beige vinyl and cloth, and additional equipment includes a wraparound rear window, a tilt steering column, aftermarket gauges, a digital radio, Vintage Air climate control, adjustable coilovers, and a 10-bolt rear axle. Previously offered on BaT in October 2026, this modified Task Force flatbed is now offered again at no reserve with a truck cover and transferable New York registration in the seller’s name.
The truck was repainted in a Hyundai shade of Canyon Copper and was fitted with a custom-fabricated short flatbed with wood slats and stakes. The seller tells us that the frame was shortened by approximately 23″ at that time and replacement rear cab corners were installed. Additional equipment includes a wraparound rear window, dual side view mirrors, chrome bumpers, quad headlights, and quarter vent windows. The windshield wipers have been removed.
Independent front suspension from a Crown Victoria and a four-link setup were installed during the build along with adjustable coilovers, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and power steering. The 17″ American Racing wheels are wrapped in Zion Rs3-g1 front and Hankook Ventus AS rear tires.
The cab features a bench seat that has been re-trimmed in beige cloth and vinyl, and a replacement headliner, carpets, and door panels were installed along with a Vintage Air HVAC system and a retro-look digital radio. The air conditioning does not work.
The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column and fronts aftermarket gauges, including a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary instruments. The speedometer and odometer do not work, and the five-digit odometer shows 6 miles. The seller estimates that they have added approximately 2k miles.
The 350ci V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette and features FiTech port fuel injection. Cooling is via an aluminum radiator.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle.
The truck won “Best of Show” at the September 2025 Vintage & Classic Street Meet in Clayton, New York, but the award is not included in the sale.
The vehicle is being sold on its New York registration, which serves as an ownership document in New York.
