India A stunned Australia A, gunning down 363 runs with 10 balls and four wickets to spare in Mohali on Friday, September 25. This is the second-highest successful List A chase ever in the history of women’s cricket. 

Notably, Australia A had recorded the joint fourth-highest run-chase in the second match of the series, chasing down 339 runs at the same venue. The highest women's List A run-chase was also recorded in India when Bengal gunned down 390 against Haryana in the Inter-State One-Day competition in Rajkot in December 2024.

Minnu Mani stars for India in a record run-chase

As for the game, as many as four Indian batters smashed half-centuries. Batting at seven, Minnu top-scored with an unbeaten 88 off just 56 balls with 12 fours and three sixes. Opener Tanisha Singh (60), skipper Anushka Sharma (58), and Niki Prasad (76) were the other batters who played a vital role in the chase.

At 119-4 in the 20th over, when Tanisha got out, the target of 363 looked like far fetched for the hosts. This is when Anushka and Niki revived the chase with a 91-run partnership, before Minnu took charge with a blistering knock.

She added 107 runs for the sixth wicket with Niki, and then Jintimani Kalita (19) provided able support to complete the chase in the 49th over.

Earlier, Australia A rode on terrific knocks from Courtney Webb (95) and Charli Knott (109). The duo added 166 runs for the third-wicket stand in just 116 deliveries before the latter fell with the team at 242-3 in the 33rd over, and 400 looking a real possibility. Vaishnavi Sharma (4-48) and Niki (4-84) picked up four wickets each as Australia then went from 313-4 in the 44th over to 362-9 at the end of their innings.
