When the grocery store gives you a decent avocado instead of a tiny green cannonball, the delivery order arrives with all its parts, or your leftovers have not developed a fluffy, furry personality overnight. These are small victories, and we take them where we can get them.
But when you're halfway through the recipe and the universe reveals that the bacon is 99% fat, or the chocolate you planned on melting for a cake is, for some reason, a powder. I, for one, would make the nearest food thermometer blow its cap just from the temperatures inside of me rising.
