40 Bond Street was designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with developer Ian Schrager. Reimagining Cast-Iron Typology: The architects sought to reinterpret the historic 19th-century cast-iron and brick loft buildings characteristic of the surrounding NoHo and SoHo districts - effectively "re-imagining the classic cast-iron building, but without the iron".
