Carina Nel has received an outpouring of love after sharing her breast cancer diagnosis on her social media platforms. The actress is known for her portrayal of the medical doctor Alexa Welman on 7de Laan.

Earlier this week, Carina Nel shared the disturbing news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.

The 38-year-old actress revealed that she had had a biopsy and had started gruelling treatment.

She thanked her support system of family and friends, as well as her Christian faith, for encouraging her.

In the comments section, the mom-of-two received an outpouring of well-wishes from the public, particularly from her 7de Laan colleagues.

TV dad David Rees, who played Chris Welman, commented: “Stay strong. We love you very much, and I will stand on my knees and pray. May our Lord bring you through this.”

TV mom, Deidre Wolhuter, who played Mariaan Welman, praised the actress for her beauty while screen sibling Andre Lotter, who played Rikus Welman, added: “All my love for you, sis”
