This 2006 Yamaha R1 LE is one of 500 units produced for the US market, all of which were finished in a Kenny Roberts-inspired yellow, black, and white livery, and this example was registered in Colorado before its recent acquisition by the selling dealer. Now indicating 967 miles, the motorcycle is powered by a liquid-cooled 998cc DOHC inline-four paired with a six-speed transmission. It also has a slipper clutch, electronic fuel injection, under-tail exhaust mufflers, adjustable Öhlins suspension, triple disc brakes, gold-finished 17″ Marchesini forged wheels, a matte black-finished twin-spar aluminum frame, a clear windscreen, a clear-lens LED taillight, quadruple headlights, fairing-mounted mirrors, rear-set foot controls, yellow frame sliders, a black vinyl-upholstered rider seat and passenger pillion, and a side stand. This YZF-R1 LE is offered in Florida at no reserve with a Colorado title.

The R1 LE was produced to commemorate the Yamaha Motor Company’s 50th anniversary, and each of the 500 US-bound examples was finished in a Kenny Roberts-inspired yellow, black, and white livery with “Speed Block” graphics. Features include a matte black-finished twin-spar aluminum frame, a clear windscreen, a clear-lens LED taillight, quadruple headlights, fairing-mounted mirrors, rear-set foot controls, yellow frame sliders, a black vinyl-upholstered rider seat and passenger pillion, and a side stand.

Gold-finished 17″ Marchesini forged aluminum wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires. Braking is handled by radially mounted four-piston calipers fitted over 320mm discs up front and a single-piston Nissin caliper fitted over a 220mm disc at the rear.

The adjustable Öhlins suspension consists of an inverted 43mm fork in addition to a ride height-adjustable piggyback monoshock attached to the swingarm.

Clip-on handlebars are mounted below the upper triple clamp, which fronts an instrument panel containing a pair of digital displays, an array of warning lights, and an analog tachometer with a 13,750-rpm redline. The digital odometer indicates 967 miles.

The plaque on the top triple clamp denotes the bike as #212 of 500 R1 LE examples produced.

The liquid-cooled 998cc DOHC inline-four features electronic fuel injection and ignition, 45mm throttle bodies with motor-driven secondary valves, and a four-into-two exhaust system that exits beneath the tail section. Factory-rated output was 175 horsepower and 80 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through a slipper clutch, a six-speed transmission, and a drive chain.
