Who needs a social life when you've got a backyard full of leafy listeners?
Oh… if I could tell you how many times I've shared my problems with my plants. If it were up to me, I'd give up therapy and start talking to them, because every living thing, plants included, is very sensitive and can totally absorb the energy you're sending. So yeah, actually talking to a plant, crying or laughing with it, is actually therapeutic and works.
Don't believe me? A 2015 study tried to prove this, because so many people out there seem to talk to their plants more often. The Journal of Psychological Anthropology confirmed that interacting with indoor plants can reduce stress, as participants reported feeling more relaxed and comfortable after working with plants. See? Having your own garden and spending time gardening works, and a lot.
In my experience, I've always had a green thumb, thanks to my mother. And she got it from her father. So, in my family, we're all crazy people who love being around plants and see the benefits of gardening. My grandfather is all about his vegetable garden, and every week, he shares his harvest of lettuce, tomatoes, green onion, and celery. He gets so happy, and those veggies are the tastiest!
