Claustrophobic horror fans looking for an intense ride are in for a treat on streaming platforms.

Indie distributor Dark Sky Films has officially released Flush on digital VOD platforms. Directed by French filmmaker Grégory Morin, the unhinged horror-comedy lives up to its wild premise, delivering a lean, fast-paced thriller that has grabbed some eyeballs on the festival circuit.

“Flush is a wildly entertaining and unforgettable ride, just the kind of fearless, boundary-pushing horror we are known for at Dark Sky,” the distributor shared in an official press release.

The premise of the movie, according to the official description, reads, “A middle-aged cocaine addict gets stuck in a club bathroom after stealing drugs while trying to win back his ex-girlfriend. His night spirals into chaos through increasingly bizarre and grotesque events.”

What to know about Flush, the grotesque horror thriller

Morin’s icky horror comedy is written by David Neiss. Neiss is primarily known for his work with video games, such as Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon: Wildlands. The main cast of the movie includes Jonathan Lambert, Élodie Navarre, Elliot Jenicot, and Rémy Adriaens.

The movie is fairly short, having a runtime of only 70 minutes. However, critics have praised the tight execution and the filming scenario. The movie has won awards at the Fantasia and Mollins film festivals. It won the award for the Best International Feature at Fantasia.

The movie also had a very successful festival run, earning rave reviews at Beyond Fest, the Sitges Film Festival, The Overlook Film Festival, the Chattanooga Film Festival, and the Phoenix Film Festival.

While the movie has a fairly niche audience, mainstream websites like Rotten Tomatoes do not have enough reviews to render a critical or audience rating for the movie. However, based on over 300 ratings, the movie sits at a 6.8/10 on IMDb. Critics have praised the movie’s execution, though some feel its outlandish premise makes it difficult to get invested in the story.
