Onyx: The Dark Grip was a surprise announcement at today's Nintendo Direct, especially considering it's playable only in handheld mode. A Switch 2 exclusive, the 2.5D horror title comes from Bloober Team, the developer behind the Silent Hill 2 remake and Chronos: The New Dawn.
The portable-only title will see players becoming "the mysterious Entity," using touch-screen controls to "manipulate reality," according to the YouTube trailer. The protagonist's name is Holden, and he enters a desolate, fog-filled town where things aren't normal (surprise, surprise). Along with the touch screen, motion controls are also utilized to "realign reality."

Additionally, the studio noted last year that it wants Switch 2 to become the scariest place in gaming. The Direct helped that cause, too, as Capcom revealed that ports of remakes for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 are on the way for Switch 2 on October 16.
As for Onyx: The Dark Grip, it's slated to hit Switch 2 in 2027.
