This weekend, the Wall Street Journal reported that Prime Minister Mark Carney is pushing for associate membership with the European Union in an effort to diversify Canada away from the United States. Though, on Sunday evening Carney downplayed the story, and said he is seeking a "unique alliance" with the EU.
