Alan Ritchson has revealed a Reacher storyline that was scrapped once Donald Trump got re-elected. The hit Prime Video TV series aired its Season 4 finale this month.

On Threads, a Reacher fan recently expressed their wish to see a live-action version of the show based on a specific book by Lee Child in which Jack Reacher “kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp.”

The fan was referring to Die Trying, the second novel in Child’s Jack Reacher series, published in 1998. Ritchson replied to the fan, revealing that it’s his “favorite book.” He then mentioned that a season of Reacher based on Die Trying was “approved until someone got re-elected.” The actor indirectly referred to Donald Trump’s re-election as the President in the 2024 elections.

Reacher Season 4 may have wrapped up, but fans of the series can now jump into its brand new spin-off. Titled Neagley, the series features Maria Sten in the lead role of Frances Neagley.

In Reacher, Neagley is a private investigator and former military colleague of Alan Ritchson’s titular character. It premiered on the exact day Reacher Season 4 ended, thus continuing the story. The spin-off show focuses on Neagley’s quest to find the truth about her friend Tommy.

So far, the spin-off has received positive reviews from both critics and fans. It currently holds a 92% Tomatometer score and a 83% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, Neagley couldn’t beat Reacher Season 4’s impressive Tomatometer score of 94%.

Neagley’s ensemble cast also includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renée Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole, and Peter Outerbridge as Arvid Rawlings. Ritchson also makes a guest appearance.

The eight-episode series is now streaming on Prime Video.
