Alex Eala was firm but polite when a fan threw an object toward her asking for an autograph.
Alex said:
“Sir, you shouldn’t throw objects at players. If you ask nicely, I’ll sign it for you, but please don’t throw it, okay?”
In another video, an older woman also throws a T-shirt in front of Alex, and Alex reiterates the same message.
It’s a simple point, but an important one: players shouldn’t have to deal with objects being thrown at them while they’re on court.
We’ve seen similar behavior become a problem at concerts, where fans throw phones, gifts, and other objects toward performers to get their attention.
Eala handled the situation without escalating it, while still making the boundary clear.
