Alien: Earth Season 2 has started filming and FX has shared a new BTS update. The short video gives an early look at the returning cast, military forces and eerie practical effects work.

The video keeps the season’s story largely hidden, but it does reveal a Chestburster model. The detailed practical effect gives a quick look at how the creature has been created for the show.
Noah Hawley remains attached as the series creator and showrunner. The first season was produced in Thailand, making London the latest filming location for the series. FX has not shared specific details about the sequence shown in the new footage. The update only focuses on the production and several elements fans will recognize.

The second season has also added four established actors to its star cast. Peter Dinklage was announced earlier. Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell and Jerome Flynn joined later.
Ullman is best known for Tracey Ullman’s Show and has appeared in numerous television projects. Spruell recently joined the cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Flynn became a familiar face through his role as Bronn in Game of Thrones. Spruell previously collaborated with Hawley on the crime drama Fargo.
The characters played by the new additions have not been revealed. Their roles are being kept secret as production continues. Other returning cast members include Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis and Samuel Blenkin. The series is therefore combining its established characters with several new faces.
Season 1 concluded with Wendy and the hybrids gaining control of Prodigy’s research center. The finale also left multiple characters confined inside the facility. Those developments leave several unresolved situations for Hawley to explore in the next chapter.
FX has yet to announce a premiere date for Alien: Earth Season 2. The latest update confirms that the series is progressing toward its return. More casting and story details are expected as production continues.
