Amazon abandons data centres plan it paid $427 mn for; donates $5 mn for housing
Amazon has decided not to proceed with its plans for developing four data centres in Virginia. The company will instead donate roughly 25 acres of the site to Loudoun County for community facilities. This agreement includes a contribution of $5 million towards the county's affordable housing initiatives. The decision comes after feedback from local leaders and the community regarding the proposed data centres.
