Apple announced its new high-end iPhones at its Surprise and Shine event on Wednesday. If you’ve been paying close attention, then one major announcement wasn’t a surprise: the price increases. The new iPhones that Apple introduced are more expensive than the models they replaced. And even the old ones all cost more too.
Back in June, Apple raised prices for Macs and iPads, but did not change iPhone prices. The thought was that the company would wait until the new iPhone release to raise prices. And that, they did–the increases for the new Pro models range from $1,199 for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro to $2,499 for the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro Max. Here’s a look at the new pricing and how they differ from the models they replace.

Basically, every iPhone now costs $100 more at the starting price and significantly more than that when you get into higher storage tiers. For example, Apple is charging iPhone 18 Pro Max buyers a whopping $599 more to jump to 2TB of storage. Even the iPhone 16 costs more and the Plus, which previously started at $799, is gone from the lineup.
The price hikes even affect the models that weren’t updated today. The iPhone 17 now starts at $899 and the iPhone 17e jumped to $699. Those are pretty big price jumps that should mean the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e coming next spring shouldn’t get another hike. But in this world of memory crunching, who knows?
