Content creator and actress, Ashmusy, has broken her silence following the controversy surrounding her fallout with reality star, Phyna.
In a lengthy statement shared via her social media page, Ashmusy expressed sadness over the situation, stating that she has spent years feeling misunderstood by the public.
According to her, she intentionally stayed away from controversies this year, choosing instead to focus on her personal life, films and content creation.
“I rebranded and made a conscious decision to stay away from trouble, drama and unnecessary noise. I’ve genuinely done my best to stay out of the news, both good and bad, and just focus on my life, my films and my content,” she wrote.
The skit maker said she had taken responsibility for her actions, including what she described as “over trusting,” while noting that she is still learning and growing.
Ashmusy further revealed that the backlash from the controversy with Phyna made her consider taking a permanent break from social media, adding that the level of toxicity online is sometimes difficult for her to understand.
She, however, said she is no longer interested in convincing people to understand her, urging critics to believe whatever they choose while she focuses on her peace.
“Moving forward, if I’m still here, please don’t involve me in anything that carries drama or misunderstandings. I don’t care what I stand to lose. I genuinely just want peace,” she stated.
The actress also tendered an apology to anyone she may have offended directly or indirectly and thanked her supporters for standing by her during the controversy.
Her statement comes amid an ongoing social media dispute with BBNaija winner, Phyna, who recently accused her of attempting to edge her out of a celebrity boxing match deal.
