Avengers Endgame: Encore has encountered a major PLF issue following its theatrical rerelease. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the 2019 MCU blockbuster returned to theaters on September 25.
It appears one of the premium large formats is having a tough time projecting Endgame: Encore in theaters. The issue has recently surfaced on social media after one fan shared a clip of the film’s rerelease from a ScreenX show with two additional screens flanking the central screen.
In the footage, it looks pretty clear that new color grading for Endgame: Encore does not match properly with the sides of the screen. As a result, a lot of viewers going in for the ScreenX format may not get a pleasing experience while watching the movie.

Avengers Endgame: Encore has returned with more bonus content, compared to the original version. Besides the improved color grading throughout its runtime, the rerelease offers extra footage, establishing a direct link with the upcoming MCU epic, Avengers: Doomsday.
Fans get roughly four minutes of new footage, including additional scenes and post-credit material. They all provide connective dots with Doomsday’s events which will involve the multiversal threats surrounding Doomsday.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo previously confirmed that avid fans must watch Endgame: Encore before seeing Doomsday. “And if you see the movie in theaters, you’re going to see some new footage that uh that that illustrates that connection for you.”
Endgame: Encore brings back the massive cast, led by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Professor Hulk, and Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye.
Other key cast members include Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine, Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, and more.
Avengers: Endgame Encore is now playing in theaters.
