In a dazzling comeback, Azmatullah Omarzai rescued Afghanistan with an extraordinary century, scoring 116 runs from 50 deliveries after a shaky start against Zimbabwe. This achievement marked a record for T20I lower-order batters. His pivotal collaboration with Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai, worth 142 runs for the sixth wicket, pushed Afghanistan to a total of 221/7. Although Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza matched him with a century, the chase ultimately proved futile.
