For the first time since their famous series win in 2021, West Indies are touring Bangladesh for a two-Test series, starting with the first Test at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, from October 28. The second Test will take place at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from November 5.

West Indies defeated Bangladesh 2-0 the last time they toured the country. However, they have a significantly different side this time, with Roston Chase as captain. White-ball captain Shai Hope has been rested for the tour with the World Cup Qualifiers in mind, while Alzarri Joseph withdrew due to workload management. Shamar Springer has replaced Keemo Paul, who was earlier named in place of Joseph.

Bangladesh recently faced Afghanistan in a one-off Test in the UAE that ended in a thrilling draw. Taskin Ahmed, who was rested for that Test, is back in the squad, but Nahid Rana remains sidelined due to an injury.
