A popular actor from Game of Thrones revealed that they would be up for taking on Robert Pattinson‘s role. In a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the GOT star revealed that he may have had an early meeting about Matt Reeves’ Batman.

Kit Harington, best known for playing Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones, was asked by Josh Horowitz whether he was on the list for Batman. The actor replied, “I think I met someone early on, but I think it was like, when I heard it was Robert Pattinson, I was like, ‘Yeah, of course. That’s who you should go with.'”

However, Harington also said he was not sure whether the meeting was for Batman, adding that he had many interviews around the time. “No, I genuinely—I can’t [remember]. I feel like I’m trying to wrap my brain [around it]. There was some meeting in L.A. at some point. You have a lot of meetings about a lot of things,” said Harington.

There’s still a chance for Kit Harington to play Batman in another DC project

Although fans could not see him don the Dark Knight’s cape on the big screen, Harington still has a chance to play Batman in another DC project.

In 2023, James Gunn and Peter Safran announced a live-action adaptation of Batman: The Brave and the Bold as part of the DCU. Andy Muschietti was set to direct the live-action adaptation, and Christina Hodson was reported as the film’s writer in January 2026.

However, no casting details have been revealed yet. In a 2025 interview, Gunn stated that the script for the DCU Batman movie was not yet finished. The director also added that he had some actors in mind for the role.

Since the Game of Thrones actor missed his chance to star in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, he could theoretically be considered for the DCU’s Batman, although no casting decision has been announced. The movie will follow an incarnation of Batman/Bruce Wayne and his son Damian Wayne, who becomes Robin.
