Netflix just filled some massive shoes. The streamer has revealed who’s stepping into an iconic character once played by Oscar winner Tom Hanks. The character will lead an upcoming TV show.
Production of Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of bestselling author Dan Brown’s The Secret of Secrets has begun. Morgan Spector will play Harvard professor and symbologist Robert Langdon, the lead in the author’s beloved book series. Joining the actor in the main cast is his wife, Rebecca Hall, who will portray Katherine Solomon.
Other cast members include Cherry Jones, Corey Stoll, Rob Delaney, Abbey Lee, Mamadou Athie, Ben Levi Ross, Anamaria Marinca, and more.
Dan Brown’s The Secret of Secrets is the sixth installment of his Robert Langdon series and follows the symbologist on a dangerous quest to rescue a missing scientist and recover her revolutionary manuscript, which could forever alter humanity’s understanding of the mind.
The untitled series is created by Brown alongside Carlton Cuse, who will serve as writer and showrunner.

The movie also starred French actress Audrey Tautou, best known for her role in the 2001 film Amélie.
Hanks reprised the role again in Angels & Demons (2009). Seven years later, he made his last appearance as Langdon in Inferno (2016).
All three movies were directed by Ron Howard and received a lukewarm response from critics and audiences. Many agree that the movies failed to match the impact of Brown’s original books. Of the three installments, Angels & Demons holds the highest score on Rotten Tomatoes with just 36% on the Tomatometer. Meanwhile, Hanks has not made any official comment about a potential fourth movie in the series.
For now, Dan Brown fans are looking forward to seeing Morgan Spector’s portrayal of the Harvard professor.
