UNC Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick prefers to keep his private life private.
For example, the 74-year-old bristled at a reporter’s question about his split from 25-year-old Jordon Hudson during a Tar Heels news conference on Monday, according to PEOPLE
The query came from WRAL’s Brian Murphy, who asked Belichick if he had “any comment” on the split reports and what it “might mean” for the football program in the future.
“Do you work for a tabloid now?” commented Belichick before adding, “I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you.”
Couple went their separate ways late last year
PEOPLE reported on Monday that the couple quietly split “late last year,” but the Trouble Cub Enterprises founder and the Tar Heels coach continue to be “committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends.”
Hudson has been seen on the sidelines at Belichick’s UNC games, including at Kenan Stadium on Sept. 2, Oct. 3, and on Oct. 17, where she was seen jumping into Belichick’s arms for a congratulatory hug after the Tar Heels defeated Duke.
Hudson is also dating others, PEOPLE reported on Friday.
The twosome were first seen together in January 2023 walking through New Orleans’ French Quarter followed by a second sighting in September on dinner date in the same city.
Their romance was confirmed in June 2024 and Hudson made waves in April 2025 when she intervened during Belichick’s CBS Sunday Morning interview with Tony Dokoupil as the reporter attempted to inquire about the couple’s first meeting.
“We’re not talking about this,” she said emphatically to Dokoupil.
