We recently got to try BMW’s newest plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the X1 xDrive 25e, and it was a marvelous little crossover. If you’re ever in the market for a premium PHEV crossover, a BMW should be on your list.
Coincidentally, BMW Philippines has announced a special sale for X3 30e xDrive PHEVs. These units were used for the recently concluded ASEAN Summit held in our country. They served as part of the mobility fleet for said summit, ferrying foreign dignitaries during their stay here. These are barely used BMWs, practically new.
Thanks to BMW’s plug-in technology, these X3s have a combined ouput of 299hp and 450Nm of torque, complete with an xDrive all-wheel drive system and an electric-only range of 90km. That distance is more than enough for most daily commutes.

The units are finished in Black Sapphire Metallic, and that seems to be the only color. This is not unexpected because diplomatic functions usually prefer dark or neutral colors for official transport.
The ASEAN fleet X3s are priced at P3,998,000, which is P700,000 less than the similar variant posted on BMW Philippines’ official website. Not a bad deal, we think. BMW PH said units are limited, so best ask your nearest dealership if you’re interested.
