The chief executive of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee will step down from the role.
Cindy Hook announced on Tuesday she will resign at the end of her four-year contract, saying it was the right time to pass the baton to a new leader to ensure a smooth transition as preparations for the Australian games move into the next phase of operations.
"During the past four years, I have achieved everything we had hoped for and had many amazing experiences along the way," Ms Hook said in a written statement.
"I know Brisbane 2032 will deliver a Games that all Australians will be proud of, and I have every confidence the team will continue what we have started with a new leader."
The board expects to make an announcement on Ms Hook's replacement in the coming months.
Located in north-east Australia, Brisbane will become the third Australian city to host a Summer Olympics after Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000.
