Being a limo driver or a fancy car chauffeur for wealthy people and celebrities can definitely make you hear gossip.

Famous people and celebrities are a big interest of mine; some people like to pretend they don't care about that, so I'm all for knowing about the life of the Kardashian family, reality shows, and celebrity weddings. I love all that. I find so much joy from hearing celebs gossip; the lifestyle of the rich and famous is actually a good way to take my mind off of things that worry me, to dissociate. That's why I like watching reality shows and reading about royal weddings. It's a dumb interest, but it surely helps to forget, at least for a while, about other things that are going on.

This thread made me think about when people reveal stories about their interactions with famous people. They usually have two ways of going: they say they were super nice and they were able to take a picture with them, or they were incredibly mean and it completely changed the perception they had of them. These kinds of reactions always led me to think that it may be that the celebrity could be having a bad day, or wanting to avoid pictures, and by just denying whatever request the fan had, now they are incredibly mean and do not deserve the fame they have. It could also be that they are lazy or entitled and don't want to take pictures with people they deem less important than them. As if they wanted the fame but not the tasks that come with it. We would never be fully sure a famous individual's behavior is entitled and mean or a sweetheart unless we are the ones who meet them in person, and even if we do, they could just be having a bad day or simply not like the attitude that you had when approaching them.

So, do we believe these stories that "fans" tell about the celebrities they have encountered? That is completely up to you; you can believe it, consider it simple gossip, or defend your favorite celebrity through everything. You are entitled to your own opinion about them. But I do think that judging someone's character according to one encounter that someone had may be biased. But if you hear the same story over and over again about one particular celebrity always acting entitled and mistreating everyone, then well, you do have more reasons to believe that it isn't simple gossip. But, again, we cannot know for sure, as we haven't met them yet. I like simply reading about those encounters that people had and take them like that, just a good story; whether it's true or not, it doesn't affect me in any way. And even if they are in fact entitled and annoying, that is not really that relevant to me. I may like celebrity gossip as a distraction, but I do not care whether they are nice or not in real life.
