Two men and a woman are facing charges after police said a clandestine drug lab was dismantled at a Markham home.

York Regional Police said approximately $639,000 worth of narcotics was seized by investigators last month.

Officers were called to a residence in the Jeremy and Fred Varley Drs. area, near Warden and 16th Aves., on Oct. 23 for a wellness check, police said.

Evidence of drug lab

However, cops allegedly found evidence inside the home of what appeared to be a lab that produced the drugs and materials used for its distribution.

“With the assistance from The Office of the Fire Marshal, Markham Fire and Emergency Services and York Region Paramedic Services, the clandestine lab was safely dismantled,” police said in a statement.

Investigators seized 12,962 packages of cannabis edibles, 209 grams of THC vaping cartridges, 26 kilograms of loose cannabis edibles, eight kilograms of dried cannabis, and 18 kilograms of psylocibin powder, police said.

Ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, and approximately $100,000 in cash were also seized at the residence.

Police allege the drugs produced at the home were primarily sold online under the name ‘Buddha Boys’, and illegitimate websites were used to mail or deliver the orders.

Joseph Li, 41, Yuan Lin, 39, and Michelle Li, 39, all of Markham, were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized, and three offences involving the production, possession, and unlawful distribution of cannabis.
