This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback was acquired by the seller in 2025 and subsequently fitted with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and six-speed manual transmission sourced from a 2015 Ford Mustang GT. The 9″ rear end was also overhauled following the seller’s acquisition, and the car is further equipped with an XClutch, a Wilwood master cylinder, four-wheel disc brakes, coilovers, and a dual exhaust system that exits ahead of the rear wheels. The car was refinished in red under prior ownership and has a revised hood, side scoops, and a rear spoiler. A roll bar protects the cabin, which is outfitted with an aftermarket steering wheel and gauges, a RetroSound head unit, an under-dash air conditioning system, a 3D-printed center console, and black upholstery. This Mustang is now offered with an Illinois title in the seller’s name.

Refinished in red, the fastback bodywork features a revised hood, side scoops, and a rear spoiler. LED taillights, halo lights, and side-mirror turn signals have also been installed. Blemishes and areas of touched-up paint are shown in the gallery below.

Suspension incorporates coilovers and a Mustang II-style setup. Five-spoke wheels are mounted with 235/45 Langolden front tires and 315/25 Venom rear tires. Electric power steering and four-wheel disc brakes are also fitted. An emergency brake is not installed.

The cockpit houses low-back bucket seats trimmed in black, and the seller added a rear bench to fit between the roll cage. A RetroSound Bluetooth head unit is installed along with a 3D-printed center console and a magnetic phone mount located ahead of the aftermarket shifter.

A woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 266 miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 was sourced from a 2015 Ford Mustang GT and was fitted utilizing a Power by the Hour harness. Revised tuning was performed in 2026, and a cold-air intake setup, a Tanks Incl electric fuel pump, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans are also installed.

The six-speed MT82 manual transmission was also sourced from the 2015 Mustang GT. The 9″ rear end was overhauled in 2026 and has a 3.73:1 gear set. An XClutch and a Wilwood master cylinder are fitted. The seller reports a noise in sixth gear and that the clutch is stiff. Long-tube headers feed the dual exhaust system, which exits ahead of the rear wheels.

The warranty number is consistent with a 1965 Mustang fastback that was built in Dearborn, Michigan, and equipped with an inline-six. Decoding the trim tag provides the following information:
