The controversy surrounding Coyote vs. Acme remains unresolved despite the film’s long-awaited release. The Looney Tunes character recently hosted a Reddit AMA after the film finally arrived in theaters on August 28, 2026.
The AMA covered everything from Coyote’s rivalry with the Road Runner to his latest adventure. However, Wile E. Coyote refused to directly address the film’s cancellation or the reported $30 million tax write-off by Warner Bros. Discovery under CEO David Zaslav.
Reddit user XtraCrispy02 asked, “Rumor has it that David Zaslav was paid off by ACME to cancel your film, what is your opinion on this?” Coyote responded with an image of himself holding a sign that read, “It’s a limited number of signs.” The answer offered a typical Wile E. Coyote-style joke, but he did not address the allegation directly.

It stars Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, with Forte playing lawyer Kevin Avery, who helps Wile E. Coyote take ACME to court.
Green celebrated the film’s theatrical release on his Instagram. He described the release as a victory for everyone who worked on the film and the fans who supported it. Green wrote, “COYOTE VS. ACME IS FINALLY, GLORIOUSLY, IN THEATERS NOW.” He expressed his gratitude and described the release as “proof that movies don’t just go away.”
Forte also expressed his gratitude in a video message on X. He praised the fans who continued supporting the project, saying its journey reflected the film’s themes of “hope and determination” and “fighting injustice.” He added, “You guys lifted us up on your shoulders and just fought and fought for this movie. Most of you, without even having seen it. So I am forever thankful.”
With Coyote vs. Acme now in theaters, Wile E. Coyote may have taken ACME to court, but he still has no comment on the Warner Bros. controversy.
