Suzanne Rogers‘ beloved character is finally making a comeback on Days of Our Lives after months off-screen. The Daytime Emmy winner is set to appear on the hit drama this week, with Maggie Kiriakis making her return. Her last appearance was in April, when she left Salem to visit her daughter Melissa.

Suzanne Rogers’s Maggie returns on Days of Our Lives

After a brief hiatus, Suzanne Rogers is reprising her iconic role as Maggie Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives.

The development comes after Rogers revealed her stage II colorectal cancer diagnosis in October 2025. She later told PEOPLE in November 2025 that she was in remission.

The Gold Circle Honors Inductee revealed, “I’m feeling so much better. I mean, my summer was rough. I had cancer removed, radiation, that was tough. But I didn’t lose my hair. I guess I got it early. I was stage two, and it was a certain kind of chemo that they gave me, it was pills and the radiation, and it didn’t affect it so that was good.”

As reported by Michael Fairman TV, official Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will reach out to Maggie on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Since the show tapes 10 to 11 months before its Peacock release, Rogers’ return storyline will unfold this fall.

The veteran actress had told TV Insider last year that her cancer treatment ended July 31, 2025. Rogers added that she was getting ready to return to work and continue Maggie Horton’s story. Notably, this was not the 83-year-old’s first health challenge. She previously battled myasthenia gravis beginning in 1984, which has also since gone into remission.

As longtime watchers know, Suzanne Rogers marked 53 years with the soap last week, having first debuted on August 20, 1973. In 1979, she made history as the first-ever winner of the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series. In 2024, she was further honored with an induction into the Gold Circle by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
