Claude P. Moore began his rubber band ball project in 2015, starting with two rubber bands. Over eleven years, he built the ball to an impressive 11,578 pounds, surpassing the previous record. Friends and family supported him throughout this extensive journey, helping transport the enormous ball for its official measurement. The record was confirmed in August 2026 by Guinness World Records during a public ceremony.
