Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement after a bombshell report claimed the jailed rap mogul was enjoying a luxury lifestyle behind bars.
Sources tell NBC and Deadline that Combs’ actions will have “serious consequences.”
The 56-year-old music star is currently serving a 50-month sentence after having been found guilty of prostitution-related offences last year.
But a new report published by NBC this week claimed the Bad Boy for Life rapper was living it up inside New Jersey’s Fort Dix federal prison.
According to four inmates who spent time in the same unit as the former music icon, Combs had men inside the slammer cooking and cleaning for him, making his bed and doing his laundry, as well as someone who gave him Chinese-style massages.
“This is not some normal s*** you see in jail. This is some rich s***,” one of the men told the outlet. “It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”
NBC News reviewed photos and video that show Combs appearing to use a contraband phone.
Sources allege Combs uses cellphones to scan Instagram and look at nude and sexually explicit photos that an old girlfriend sends him.
Two insiders said he has access to a “jailbroken” tablet that he has used to watch movies and documentaries — including the 50 Cent-produced Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning .
On weekends, Combs allegedly dips into “a secret stash of premium liquor” and has been able to buy antidepressants.
“Hell yeah, I drank with him,” one of the men said, recalling how he drank Hennessy with Combs.
The Grammy winner also allegedly pays a man to clean the toilet and shower areas before he uses them. Other convicts cook him special meals, including curry chicken, pizza and empanadas.
“After a while, I got tired of cooking,” said one man who claimed he had prepared meals for Combs and other inmates. “He started going to the Jamaicans.”
With 4,000 prisoners, Fort Dix has a reputation as a facility where jailbirds can get their hands on pretty much whatever they want.
“You can pretty much get anything except a key to the front door and a female,” one of the sources said.
Combs allegedly has people on the outside who help funnel money to the inmates working for him.
“Pretty much the day he arrived, the party started,” one insider said.
‘He would walk around in only a towel or boxer shorts’
A rep for Combs downplayed the claims in a statement to NBC.
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson said. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson refused to comment, citing “privacy, safety and security reasons.”
“Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities,” the spokesperson said.
Combs has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement once before following a fight with a fellow inmate who “ disrespected ” him. But NBC News reports that when he first entered Fort Dix, “he would walk around in only a towel or boxer shorts after a shower, prompting inmates to warn him that he could be targeted for sex.”
Reports of Combs’ luxury life in the clink come as his release date has been moved up.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records viewed by USA Today show Combs is now scheduled for release on Jan. 21, 2028.
Diddy ‘owned’ kinky sex allegations — and won
Combs was arrested in September 2024 with authorities accusing him of multiple offences, including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The sex trafficking and racketeering charges could have kept him under lock and key for life.
According to a criminal indictment, Combs allegedly used his “power and prestige” to induce female victims and male sex workers into drugged-up, elaborately produced sexual performances dubbed “Freak Offs” that the rapper arranged, participated in and often recorded on video.
The events would sometimes last days, and Combs and victims would often receive IV fluids to recover, the indictment said.
Prosecutors said that victims were left afraid for their safety and alleged that Combs used firearms to threaten and intimidate participants.
During his trial, Combs’ lawyers admitted he engaged in eye-popping kinky sex, made porn and lived a swinger’s lifestyle — but the jury ultimately found him guilty only of two counts of transportation for prostitution.
Combs still faces dozens of civil lawsuits and has settled with one former girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who had accused him of rape and abuse.
One legal analyst said the key to the courtroom win on the more serious charges was that the former billionaire “owned” the bad facts of the case.
“This trial was a major gamble and Combs won that bet,” New York Law School Professor Anna Cominsky told the New York Post.
“Everything is stacked against the defendant going into a federal case, in particular one like this. His attorneys were smart and they owned the bad facts. They fought on the things that mattered, and it paid off.”
