One Dynamic Duo star has addressed speculation about the DC animated movie’s connection to the DCU. Logan Kim, who will voice Jason Todd in the movie, took to social media to address whether the movie will be canon to the DCU.

Kim stated that Dynamic Duo, a story centered on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, is not part of the DCU. Kim made the clarification in the comments of an Instagram post claiming otherwise. He clarified that the claim was incorrect. The post has since been removed by the original poster.

The film is reportedly outside the main DCU continuity. Its voice cast should not automatically be expected to reprise these versions of the characters in future DCU projects. James Gunn has previously said that DCU actors would continue playing their characters across different mediums.

What else do we know about the Dynamic Duo movie?

Dynamic Duo, which is set to be a mixed-media animated feature combining puppetry and animation, will release on September 22, 2028. The movie’s mixed-media approach has drawn comparisons to other innovative animated superhero films, including Sony’s Spider-Verse movies.

It is being produced by DC Studios in collaboration with New Orleans-based Swaybox Studios. The movie was initially scripted by Matthew Aldrich, with Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber also brought in for a rewrite. Swaybox co-founder Arthur Mintz will direct the movie.

The movie will follow Dick Grayson and Jason Todd during their early years. The movie will show them taking very different paths. Grayson begins to serve as Robin under Batman, while Todd ends up joining the Red Hood Gang.

Mason Thames will play Dick Grayson, while Logan Kim will voice Jason Todd. Lee Pace and Steve Buscemi are also set to voice Red Hood One and Red Hood Two, respectively. Chris Pine has also been rumored to voice Batman.
