Kia rolls out BEV hauler

THE 2026 EDITION of the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) saw a majority of electrified mobility brands come together. Never one to be left out of all things EV is ACMobility, and for 2026 it chose PEVS as the occasion to mark the launch of an all-new model for Kia. During the first day of the event, Kia took the stage to officially launch the PV5 Cargo van in the Philippines.

Kia’s PV5 Cargo is a take on what modern cargo mobility could be. Featuring a very futuristic van design coupled with a fully electric powertrain, Kia says the model combines heavy-duty capacity, long-range battery efficiency, and award-winning design into a complete operational package for local enterprises.

The Kia PV5 Cargo was recently awarded the 2026 International Van of the Year honor by a “jury of leading commercial vehicle journalists from 26 countries.” Kia insists that the “accolade highlights (its) innovation, efficiency, and real-world practicality.”

On the outside, the PV5 Cargo has LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED rear-combination taillights. It rolls on 16-inch rims. The van is built on the brand’s dedicated EV platform and measures 4,695-mm long, 1,895-mm wide, and 1,905-mm high. Its wheelbase stretches 2,995mm. Despite its size, Kia says the PV5 Cargo is still very much maneuverable through narrow streets or loading docks. In terms of cargo capacity, the PV5 Cargo can carry up to 805kg in a 4,420-liter cargo bay measuring 2,255-mm long, 1,565-mm wide, and 1,520-mm high. It also has eight heavy-duty tie-down hooks and universal L-track mounting points to ensure cargo is safely secured.

Powering the Kia PV5 Cargo is a 51.5-kWh NMC battery that makes 163ps and 250Nm of torque. It boasts a full range of 384 kilometers (per NEDC testing). To help keep logistics moving, the PV5 Cargo accepts DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Technology is also an important aspect of the PV5 Cargo. It gets a 2.9-inch touchscreen display paired with a 7.5-inch driver cluster that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The most standout features of the PV5 come in the form of Kia’s DriveWise safety suite. It comes equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Smart Cruise Control (SCC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Lane Following Assist (LFA).

Kia is offering the PV5 Cargo in just one variant for P2.098 million and in various exterior colors including Snow White Pearl, Steel Grey, and Aurora Black Pearl.
