Recently I finally made it to 1500 in blitz. Wanting to preserve my rating, I switched to an alt account, which was at the time only rated 1350 in blitz (yes, I am aware this is against the rules). I then proceeded to get absolutely destroyed by 1300 players until my rating fell to 1200. I'm now hovering between the high 1100s and low 1200s. How can this possibly be when I was just playing at a consistent level against high 1400s and low 1500s?
There's nothing different about the way I'm playing. I'm not tilted about losing my rating because I still have it preserved on my main account. The players are simply far stronger. This isn't the first time I've felt like the lower ratings range feels a lot harder, but this experiment really seemed to confirm it
Does anyone have an explanation for this phenomenon?
